On our way to Chicago, we stopped off in downtown Indianapolis to visit their statehouse which is, by the way, so gloriously beautiful and gigantic it puts the Ohio statehouse to shame. This is the view of their statehouse from two blocks away at their equally awesome Soldiers' and Sailors' Monument.

A couple of weeks ago I photographed the lovely Hannah modeling some costumes for Caitlyn Hair. I've also been studying classical lighting techniques for portraiture and... well I have a long way to go in this journey to becoming a skilled portrait artist.But Hannah was awesome, the costumes were beautiful and I hope to work with both Hannah and Caitlyn again.

What shall I title this one?Perhaps, "2010: A Space Eggyssey."I was going for the monolithic look but ended up with more of a lunar appearance. I think it's because I am unwilling to get a sufficiently low angle on an egg to make it look looming and... monolithic.Not that I'm complaining; I rather like it.Also, I very much need a nice watermark.

For these projects, I like to stick with a theme, so I went to an antique mall in Reynoldsburg and take pictures of pretty dishes. This week for photography class, we're to take photos with the most extremely shallow depth of focus we can. I decided to play with the DOF again (since I've lately been eschewing the popular extreme-shallow-DOF trend) with the sea of dandelions in our front yard. For post-processing I used elsamuko's Movie 300 Script in GIMP.

Yes, this is the kind of photograph I want to take. Forever.Caitlyn was so kind as to allow me to hijack her dress, and her mother's house, to experiment with this extremely fashionable type of shot. I learned that I could use a removable flash ohhhh so badly, and that my tripod is my friend even when I don't expect to need it.

Sarah and I took an excursion to Zanesville, not really sure what we would find. Naturally we found ourselves on the non-tourist-y side of the city and kept on running into CHURCHES! There is a particular spot where one can see the steeples to at least seven churches. It was wild.
